With a few simple time-saving tips, you will be able to show up on time in both your professional and personal life – you won’t look back to those days of waking up late, grabbing a piece of toast and running out the door half-dressed to make it for the bus!
Set your alarm 15 minutes earlier
This starts the night before. Set your intention on giving yourself more time in the morning and get into bed half an hour earlier. Without stating the obvious setting your alarm at least 15 minutes earlier will give you the space to breathe and enjoy a morning routine rather than 30 minutes to be up and out of the door in!
If you are feeling brave try setting for an hour earlier – it has been a life changing practise for myself – I take the time to meditate and either run or practise yoga, sit down for a proper breakfast and set my intentions for the day. It is part of the day I most look forward to!
Uniform
Again, the night before – lay out your outfit the next day. Make sure anything that needs to be ironed has been. For some reason, it takes less time in the evening to choose your outfit than in the morning – one of the strange facts of life!
One place
Keep all of the items you need for the day in one place. Whether this is a purse organiser or a tray by the door it will stop you running around the house looking for car keys!
Day of prep
Taking a day out of your week to do all of your laundry for the coming week and prepping meals will change your life – put the washing machine on and start cooking! Finish with ironing all your clothes. If you want to be super organised outfit plan for the week and hang the outfits together. You will be so thankful come Monday afternoon knowing you have a delicious meal ready and waiting for you!
Bath / Shower the night before
Finishing the day with a hot bath or shower will save you precious minutes in the morning and also be a lovely way to unwind at the end of the day. Try adding lavender essential oil to the bath or in the shower.
Prep your breakfast/coffee
Whether you’re a blueberry chia pudding kinda girl or a black coffee and nut bar – get it ready the night before! When I know I am going to be really tight on time I will even get the coffee pot ready and grind the beans the night before so all it takes is for me to boil water in the morning and I am ready to go.
As you can see most of these tips start with the intention the night before. The key here is intention!
