It is something so many of us struggle with but with conscious effort, you can boost your self-worth with our below tips:
Would you speak to your friend like that?
Our internal dialogue affects our thoughts, our thoughts affect our actions, our actions affect our life. It is so important to talk to yourself with kindness and compassion. If you wouldn’t say it to your best friend then you most certainly should be speaking to yourself like that.
Analyze your beliefs
Ask yourself questions – often writing down open-ended questions and writing down your answer will show some amazing insights into your self-worth.
Change your filter
Is your glass half full or half empty? There are two ways of viewing all events – make a game to see the positive in everything. Long queue? Time to catch up on some emails on your phone. Canceled plans with a friend? Chance to have a long bubble bath and an early night. Traffic jam? Means you are able to listen to more of your favorite podcast. Splitting up with your OH? Chance to find out more about yourself and what you value and opens you up to meet someone you are better suited to.
Visualize
What would you look like if you had high self-worth? How would you act at work? How would you deal with difficult situations? Model yourself on this and visualize throughout the day what you are like
Challenge
Set yourself challenges – make a list of all the negative thoughts you have in a day than say you are going to reduce it by half. The next day by half again. Do something that scares you. Set yourself a challenge to write down 5 of your best qualities each morning. Whatever it takes to increase your self-worth – challenge yourself to do it!
