Helping women strengthen their self worth has become a big part of my work over the years, with many of my clients struggling with thoughts about not being “enough”, limiting beliefs about what they are capable of and an inner mean girl that is refusing to stay quiet.
I love to combine both traditional coaching techniques with spiritual practices and below, I share some of my favourite coaching tools and rituals to support my clients in strengthening their self love.
Forgiveness-This is possible one of my favourite rituals which requires you to let go of any blame, shame, guilt or regret you may be holding onto when it comes to choices you have made or actions you have done.
Holding on to our past prevents us from moving into our future and forgiveness helps you cut the cord on any negative experiences you need to leave behind.
Clarity coaching – One of the skills we teach our students inside The Clique Academy (our coach certification program) is how to support their clients in getting clear on their goals.
This is an incredibly important part of self love, as so often, we never really give ourselves the luxury of actually asking “what do I want in life” OR when we do, we often find ourselves settling or making decisions based upon what we feel we should do.
Clarity coaching involves a series of quick fire questions designed to empower a client to set goals free from fears/doubts or limiting beliefs.
Emotional Freedom Technique – EFT, or tapping as it is also known, is a way to clear out negative beliefs and clear any energetic blockages. It works by tapping on different meridian points whilst repeating a set of phrases. Just a few rounds of EFT can help you let go of feelings of self doubt and increase confidence and self worth.
Balancing the heart chakra – The heart chakra is typically associated with love, compassion, responsibility, honesty and forgiveness, especially of one’s self. A blockage in this chakra can lead to a lack of self love and low feelings of self worth.
There are a number of practices to help heal and balance a blocked heart chakra, but a simple solution is using a crystal such as Rose Quarzt alongside a loving kindness meditation.
Alternatively, use a daily mantra such as “I am loved”, said out loud whilst placing a hand over your heart.
Speaking your authentic truth – Something we encourage all of our clients to do to help them step into their unique power is to speak their truth without fear or shame.
We all have a story and whilst it may feel like an act of self love to hide the parts of our story or ourselves that make us feel vulnerable, vulnerability equates with strength, not weakness. Allowing yourself to be vulnerable by speaking your truth and being yourself is an important act of self love.
In being unapologetic about who you are, you are claiming your worth, recognising that you are important and your words have value.
